Specialist Christopher G. Stark was born on August 18, 1988 in Monett, Missouri. He enlisted in the Army on August 28, 2008 and began his career as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician with the 705th EOD Company at Fort Polk, Louisiana on November 17, 2009. Specialist Stark deployed to Afghanistan in November 2010 as an EOD specialist with the 705th EOD Company in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. 

Specialist Stark’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, and Basic EOD Badge. 

Specialist Stark is survived by his mother Teresa and brother Trenton.

SPC Christopher G. Stark died 28 Feb 2011 in Tangi, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.  He served during Operation Enduring Freedom and was assigned to the 705th Ordnance Co (EOD), 63rd Ordnance Battalion (EOD), 20th Support Command, Fort Polk. LA.
